December 2016 Warm, Safe and Well: The Evaluation of the Warm at Home Programme - A £637k programme managed by the charity Foundations Independent Living Trust has helped 3,600 people stay in their own home warm, safe and well over a 12 month period.

August 2016 The DFG - Before and after the Better Care Fund - This report uses the findings from a series of projects on home adaptation services, plus analysis of the LOGASnet data (annual returns to central government) to show how the DFG has developed, and to raise issues relating to grant delivery systems, funding and resource allocation. The summary of this report is available in the Main findings document.

March 2016 Budget 2016 briefing - This briefing sets out the announcements made by the Chancellor that can have an impact on the work delivered by home improvement agencies and the housing support sector.

February 2016
DFG Summit report - This report is a summary of the main points brought up during the DFG summit held jointly by Foundations and the College of Occupational Therapists. It sets out an action plan for the future development of DFG and presents some apposite case studies showing what works well now. 

January 2016 HIA Business Analysis Toolkit - This toolkit has been developed to help HIAs analyse their business processes and outcomes so that they are better able to meet the needs of their customers, the requirements of commissioners and run their businesses more effectively.

The tools can be used individually or together to help shape business plans, write bids or to design new services, and can be applied to the organisation as a whole, to a department or to an individual service or project.

January 2016 Housing, Health and Care Integration Toolkit - The toolkit is aimed at home improvement agencies and other housing support providers to help build a compelling case for integrating housing within the fabric of health and social care provision. This new, fully revised version of the toolkit now makes reference to alignment with key issues highlighted in the new Care Act (2014) and considers local variations of outcome frameworks.

2015 FirstStop Advice for Older People: An independent evaluation of local services EAC and Care & Repair England commissioned an external evaluation to assess the value of FirstStop’s local services to older people and to current and potential funders. The evaluation provides evidence of significant savings to the NHS & Social Care, highlights how services contribute to the achievement of NHS, Adult Social Care and Public Health Outcomes and Targets and demonstrates the value of such services to older people.

2015 Spending Review - a briefing for the HIA sector - In November 2015 the Chancellor George Osborne made his autumn statement which sets out his spending plans to 2020. This briefing sets out the policy statements that have implications for the HIA sector along with some instant reactions from Foundations.

2015 Linking Disabled Facilities Grant to Social Care Data - This FOI research reveals the impact that government support for home adaptations can have on supporting independent living and delaying a move into residential care. It shows that those who have had adaptations and later move into care do so some four years later than those who have not had adaptations carried out via DFG.  

2015 Care Act 2014 and its Statutory Guidance - a briefing for the Housing support sector.

2015 Making the Case for integrated, impartial information and advice about housing and care for older people - This publication sets out how integrated housing and care information and advice services enable local councils to meet their new duties under the Care Act (which comes into effect from April 2015) with model clauses included to assist with service commissioning.

2015 All our futures... Housing for ageing - In the Spring of 2015 leading figures from the housing and ageing sectors came together at a summit to map out the actions required to address the critical issue of housing for an ageing population. This report summarises the key messages that emerged from the day's discussions. 

2014 Memorandum of Understanding to support joint action on improving health through the home - this document signed by 20 health and housing bodies, including Foundations, sets out a ‘shared commitment to joint action across government, health, social care and housing’ and will ‘promote the housing sector’s contribution to health’.
